Day 6 - Sunday, November 12, 2023 - Quito to San Cristobal, Galapagos
Ate breakfast at the hotel and boarded the bus at 9:00 for a trip to the airport. An Exoticca employee met us there and got our forms for the Galapagos, luggage tags and directed us to our gate. The flight to Guayaquil was only 36 min. Then we stayed on the plane while some passengers got off and others came aboard. That took about 45 min before our final 90 minute flight to the airport in Galapagos. The island of San Cristobal is small and the airport was 5 min. at most from our hotel. At the hotel we were introduced to Morgan who was our contact on the island. He didn't seem to helpful but we made out ok. After we got our rooms Fernando gave us an orientation to Puerto Banquerizo Moreno, the capital of San Cristobal Island. It is small and easy to navigate on foot. He took us to a beach and we swam and walked back to the hotel to clean up. Then we went to Descanso Marinero, suggested by Morgan, and had a beer and a huge pasta marinera with fish, shrimp, clams, octopus etc. (had we known we would have shared a plate.) We picked up some snorkel equipment for Ron to use tomorrow and returned to the hotel.
