Trip to Ecuadodr

Day 7 - Monday, November 13, 2023 - San Cristobal, Galapagos

Up at 6:30 and breakfast at 7:00. They brought us juice, coffee, fruit and then today's breakfast was fried egg, cheese and a roll. At 8:15 we took the bus to Loberia - sea lions are called Lobos marinas - marine wolves- so this beach was their hangout. We walked a ways to get to an inlet where the sea lions were and where people could snorkel. Ron saw sea turtles and lots of tropical fish. I took pictures and just went in the water to cool off. Then it was back to the hotel and time to get lunch. Ron returned his snorkel equipment and we went to a nearby Seafood House for lunch. Rob, a fire fighter from Canada, came up just after we ordered and joined us. We had shrimp, rice, salad, plantains and a beer. At 1:30 we took off again and went to Galapaguera where we saw the giant tortoises and learned about the efforts to increase their numbers. From there it was back on the bus for a short ride and a 15 min. walk to Puerto Chino Beach. We climbed the rocks looking for the elusive blue footed boobies but unfortunately only one appeared after we left and we could only see it from a distance. Some people swam a little and it was back to the hotel. We went out to a TexMex restaurant and had 2 for 1 happy hour margaritas and nachos. Then we stopped and got some dessert to take back to our room. We stayed up and watched the Bills lose - enough said.
