Day 4 - Friday, November 10, 2023 - Amazon/Tena/Middle of the World/Quito
Today it is breakfast at 7:00 and bags out so that we could be on the road by 8:00. We are heading back toward Quito and will be stopping first at the Middle of the Earth. On the trip back Alex took time and schooled us on the different aspects of Ecuadorian life - i.e. history, education, min. wages, health care etc. We had two hours at the Equator where we took pictures, got our passports stamped, had a beer, bought a wrap and some other souvenirs. We returned to our hotel around 4:00 and walked to the artisanal market to browse. We went to eat pizza at 4:30 and then to Sweet and Cafe for some ice cream. Came back to the hotel and cleaned up. Then we went and had some wine and shrimp ceviche at the hotel restaurant. They made their's with a tomato and cilantro base which is different than the traditional that I was used to. I'll keep sampling to find my favorite. Early to bed.
