Day 23 Tuesday, February 21, 2023 Bandelier, Valles Caldera, Los Alamos
Off to the mountains this morning. On the way we crossed the Rio Grande. Ron wanted to put his toes in but the barbwire fence prevented that. There were beautiful views along the way. Bandelier National Park also is the site of the cliff dwellings of the Tyuonyi which were intriguing. After we took the narrow, winding road to Valle Caldera which was like a hugh bowl whose sides were 10,000 ft above sea-level. On the way home we stopped in Los Alamos and visited the Bradbury Museum. We watched 2 short movies which talked about the Manhattan Project and the work being done today at the Lab. The Blue Window was our dinner stop for some soup.
