Trip to Santa Fe

Day 36  Monday, March 6, 2023

Our last day trip from Santa Fe was to Taos about 1 1/2 hours away. Again the views were magnificent and we had a sunny but slightly windy day. Our first stop along the way was so that Ron could finally touch the Rio Grande. We had to stop a couple of times before he could actually get right to the water. We also visited the Rio Grande Gorge Visitor Center. The ranger suggested we drive past Taos and see the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, the 10th highest in the U.S., which we did. It was a really deep Gorge. Then we tried to go to Taos Pueblo but like so many other Pueblos it was closed to all but residents. We made our way to Taos Old Town and walked around. We saw the Plaza but to tell the truth we were galleried and shopped out. I think Santa Fe's Old Town is more impressive. We got some lunch and had a nice drive home.
