Day 8 - Saturday, January 9, 2023 - Arfoud to Ouarzazate
Up and out by 8:30 and on to Quarzazte (Was za
zate)(Wha is that). There was a lot of driving again today. We are taking the
Tinjdad Rd. to Tinghir. We made numerous stops to enjoy the panoramic views
along the way to the Todgha Gorge. The walls are 800 feet tall. We also saw the
Dades Valley and traveled the road of a thousand kasbahs. We ate lunch in Tinghir and made
a pit stop at a store that sold rose water and other creams. There is a yearly
rose festival in the Meggouna Valley also called the valley of the roses. Our final visit on today's itinerary was to the
Taourit village which was constructed in the 12th century in Oaurzazate.
On to the hotel for dinner and an early bedtime.
